FIFA decides to ban Modeste for 2 matches

Al-Ahly defeated the Saudi League champion with a score of 3-1 in the second round of the 2023 Club World Cup, and will face Brazilian Fluminense in the semi-finals.
Modest participated in the 87th minute, and the referee showed the red card directly to his face in the 90th minute due to a strong elbow tackle on Ahmed Hegazy.
This means the end of the French striker's career in the tournament, as he will miss the match with Brazilian Fluminense in the semi-finals, and the final match if Al-Ahly wins, or third place if Al-Ahly loses.
A source from Al-Ahly previously stated to FilGoal.com: “FIFA fined the club 50,000 Swiss francs due to the expulsion of Anthony Modest, and warnings to Hussein Al-Shahat, Emam Ashour, and Kahraba.”

He added, "The fine is equivalent to one million and 777 thousand Egyptian pounds."
According to the regulations,
“If a player or team official is expelled as a result of a direct or indirect red card, he will be automatically suspended from his team’s subsequent match. In addition, additional penalties may be imposed in the case of a direct red card.”
The value of the penalty is deducted from the financial compensation received by each club participating in the Club World Cup.
Al-Ahly reached the semi-finals of the Club World Cup for the sixth time in its history and the fourth in a row, out of 9 participations in the tournament.
The winner of the Al-Ahly match against Fluminense will meet the winner of the match between Manchester City and Urawa Red of Japan in the final of the tournament.
